Instant Whitening Toothpaste<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Hi All! </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">It has been quite a while since I have been on here. As you all know, life happens :) I have been busy with lots of various things, but one has been wedding planning! A few weeks ago I qualified for the Something Blue, Bride to be Voxbox from the brand Influenster! If you have never heard of Influenster before it is a website where you can go and share your opinions about products. You take surveys, earn badges and build up your score. At least once a month Influenster sends out what they call Voxboxes to members who qualify. A Voxbox is a box full of free products! All Influenster wants in return is for you to spread the word about what you thought of the products!! For more info on Influenster check out the site- <a href="http://www.influenster.com/">Influenster</a> and/ or my previous post- </span><a href="http://livinglovely11.blogspot.com/2012/10/influenster-voxbox.html">http://livinglovely11.blogspot.com/2012/10/influenster-voxbox.html</a><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">I have a few invites left so if you're interested in getting an account just let me know!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-_0trWOwkGlE/UeRkM01HruI/AAAAAAAACDU/ZZA-wBNs9aI/s1600/photo.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-_0trWOwkGlE/UeRkM01HruI/AAAAAAAACDU/ZZA-wBNs9aI/s400/photo.JPG" width="400" /></span></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: small;">My Something Blue Voxbox!</span></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Now, on to the real reason for this post! In my Something Blue Voxbox I received a product that I really like! It is called Luster Now! Instant Whitening Toothpaste. Now, I know what you are thinking and assure you I was thinking it too...Instant Whitening, ha, not likely! I am a daily tea drinker, and ever since I got my braces off in high school I have had stains on my teeth that bother me. I have used many whitening toothpastes and even whitening strips. While my teeth aren't awful I have never found a product that truly amazes me with it's white as snow teeth brightening abilities. For this product I thought let's give it a shot, and I crossed my fingers tightly!</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Mz2bRO9LXTs/UeRrxBOIaXI/AAAAAAAACDo/S2d_qtg4uAQ/s1600/photo(2).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Mz2bRO9LXTs/UeRrxBOIaXI/AAAAAAAACDo/S2d_qtg4uAQ/s320/photo(2).JPG" width="117" /></span></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">This product pleasantly surprised me! I actually had my sister take before and after photos of my teeth so we could see if it really lived up to the hype. I found this product to taste good (it's described as having a Happy Mint Flavor, which I found to be adorable!!), and that it left my mouth feeling extremely clean, and my breathe with a fresh scent. I will tell you it has a strong mint taste, and that the product is blue. I know that some people cannot stand the taste of mint, if so this product sadly would not be for you. I also saw some reviews saying it took them a long time to get the blue off of their teeth? I am not sure how these people were rinsing, but I haven't had that problem. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"> You can buy this product on the Luster website for $7.99. I haven't seen it in other stores, but am on the lookout, because I would love to pick it up at a drugstore! Have any of you used Luster products? Did you receive the Something Blue Voxbox? I would love to hear your thoughts, and comments below! Thanks!!</span><br />

Thank you all soooo much for the referrals the past few months!! Right now I have a few pending Jules, but am not sure if they will be usable by the December box? ::Fingers crossed:: Anyways, after calling customer service- which was luckily friendly and super helpful, I was able to order the Boho Glam November box using my Jules- reward points from referring people to the program.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">I went with Boho Glam instead of my original American Beauty profile because I really liked the golden Amber colored featured, and was much more interested in the purple Nora than the silverish Brita which comes in the American Beauty box. This month Julep featured suede polishes which have a matte finish when no top coat is applied. I had never tried such a thing, so was anxious to give them a go when I found my box to have arrived today :)</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-4CzhToLLWeg/UJME_ajOMHI/AAAAAAAAAhY/0g_xbsTgTCQ/s1600/IMAG0133.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-4CzhToLLWeg/UJME_ajOMHI/AAAAAAAAAhY/0g_xbsTgTCQ/s400/IMAG0133.JPG" width="223" /></a></span></div>
<span style="font-size: large;"> I thought the box was SO pretty this month :) The little crinkles of paper were different than normal, and the box included a pamphlet of available gift sets you can buy online as presents for Christmas. I was really excited to see three travel nail polish removers included!! I always get chips in my nail polish when I am visiting my boyfriend (well actually he is now my FIANCEE!!!!! I was proposed to on Friday, and said yes of course since he is the love of my life- I am SO happy right now) and need to get my polish off asap as I am ocd about that. These should come in handy!!</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">The polishes in the Boho Glam box were:</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Amber: Golden Bronze Suede</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Nora: Silver Aubergine Suede</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-nmn8N7O46Do/UJMFCjt3RWI/AAAAAAAAAhg/UKTqlpZyak0/s1600/IMAG0136.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="154" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-nmn8N7O46Do/UJMFCjt3RWI/AAAAAAAAAhg/UKTqlpZyak0/s320/IMAG0136.JPG" width="320" /></a></span></div>
<span style="font-size: large;">The box also included a body lotion called Pink Grapefruit Body Frosting. It smells amazing and looks just like pink birthday cake frosting! The label says it is shea butter infused moisturizer with aloe vera and vitamin e. </span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-utTYlNlcnCc/UJMFGUQPRNI/AAAAAAAAAho/syg13oT8oX4/s1600/IMAG0138.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="179" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-utTYlNlcnCc/UJMFGUQPRNI/AAAAAAAAAho/syg13oT8oX4/s320/IMAG0138.JPG" width="320" /></a></span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-jzCjNYoQ2eo/UJMFKAKMViI/AAAAAAAAAhw/i7eWHMB-aJw/s1600/IMAG0140.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="179" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-jzCjNYoQ2eo/UJMFKAKMViI/AAAAAAAAAhw/i7eWHMB-aJw/s320/IMAG0140.JPG" width="320" /></a></span></div>
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Both the nail polishes and the lotion apply nicely :) The suedes gave full coverage in one coat and dry almost instantly which I love. I am so intrigued by the texture and matte look of their finish- I haven ever seen anything like it! I put a top coat on my ring finger and the sparkle is so pretty- goes with my sparkling ring!! :) :) :) I wish the pictures below did them justice- it is sooo hard to see the finish in them, I am sorry!! The lotion's smell couldn't be better, and has thick lovely texture. I was happy it rubbed in completely instead of leaving a greasy oil residue like most lotions tend to as well.</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-0KQdXiqVJ6I/UJMFN-VeJ4I/AAAAAAAAAh8/sahLHddVAIg/s1600/IMAG0141.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="179" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-0KQdXiqVJ6I/UJMFN-VeJ4I/AAAAAAAAAh8/sahLHddVAIg/s320/IMAG0141.JPG" width="320" /></a></span></div>

<br />

<br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Good thing I am on a no buy or the other matte polishes would totally at least be in my cart right now! Julep promises some great polishes for the month of December, and a few are available at reduced prices in gift sets right now at their newly revamped site. The gift sets come pre wrapped in cute little boxes with ribbons and tags. If you are interested in these products, or trying out this service for a PENNY, you can go to : <a href="http://www.julep.com/rewardsref/index/refer/id/44511/">http://www.julep.com/rewardsref/index/refer/id/44511/ </a>take a short quiz to figure out your style (which polishes you will receive) and then at checkout enter promo code COLOR2012. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Any other Mavens out there get the suedes this month?? What do you think? </div>
I am SO very excited today as my first Voxbox from Influenster came in the mail!! As mentioned in my previous post Influenster is a website where you can sign up to be sent sample boxes for free! All you do is fill out some surveys, and hope to qualify for one of the boxes they send out. I qualified for the Beauty Blogger Voxbox and am thrilled. It really is amazing that a company would send me all these things for free. Now that I got the box I just have to tell them I received it on my account, and give feedback on the products via a survey they should have up soon. Easy as pie!<br />
<br />
Look what was in my box!!!! :<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4t6NrNOdaGU/UH9B425IxWI/AAAAAAAAAg4/j4wkm11oiFk/s1600/voxbox.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="378" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4t6NrNOdaGU/UH9B425IxWI/AAAAAAAAAg4/j4wkm11oiFk/s400/voxbox.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
As you can see the box was jam packet with free "samples". Most of these products are full size which is just so crazy awesome!! Inside the box was a card similar to that in Birchbox which listed all the products included, a description of them, and the price of the full sized product.<br />
<br />
Here is a list of the goods:<br />
<br />
<ul>
<li>NYC New York Color IndividualEyes Custom Compact: $4.99</li>
</ul>
This gorgeous eyeshadow compact came with a primer, illuminator, and four colors- two crease shadows, and all over lid shadow and a highlighter shadow. The little card says they are specifically coordinated to intensify and enhance your eye color. Hmm, the package does not say what color eyes this set is for, but the colors are dark to light grey- black. They look very pretty and slightly shimmery. I am excited to try them out especially with the primer! I haven't tried a primer before, and usually do not use eyeshadow so this is an excuse to experiment :) The box also says this is a limited edition product.<br />
<br />
<ul>
<li>Kiss Ever Pro Lashes Starter Kit: $5.99</li>
</ul>
I have never tried out fake eyelashes before, and am hesitant, yet kind of excited to try these. The kit includes a pair of fake lashes, latex free glue, and an applicator. It says they last up to 24 hours so I suppose I will have to put them to the test soon!<br />
<a href="http://www.walgreens.com/dbimagecache/73150956732_220x220_a.jpg" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="320" id="il_fi" src="http://www.walgreens.com/dbimagecache/73150956732_220x220_a.jpg" style="padding-bottom: 8px; padding-right: 8px; padding-top: 8px;" width="320" /></a><br />
<ul><a href="http://bbw.imageg.net/graphics/product_images/pBBW1-13208324enh-z8.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" id="il_fi" src="http://bbw.imageg.net/graphics/product_images/pBBW1-13208324enh-z8.jpg" style="padding-bottom: 8px; padding-right: 8px; padding-top: 8px;" width="131" /></a>
<li>Bath & Body Works Mini Candles: $3.50/ Coupon for a 3 Wick Candle for $10</li>
</ul>
The candle I received is called Black Pepper Bergamot. I have no idea how to pronounce Bergamot, and had no clue what it was so I looked it up. Apparently it is some kind of orange? I am just going off goggle info for that though so I could be wrong. Anyways it smells decent. I love, love, love the most recent candle I purchased from Bath and Body Works which is the Pumpkin Cupcake candle. I am interested to try this one out. The coupon was for sure a nice extra touch as well!<br />
<br />
<br />
<ul>
<li>EBOOST- $28 for a box of 20 powders, $39 for a box of 30, and $39 for a box of 12 shots</li>
</ul>
Apparently this powder is supposed to boost your mood, focus and immunity. I got mine in an orange flavor. I wonder how it taste, and if it really works?? Interestinggg.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://fitceleb.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/packetlowres_10.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" id="il_fi" src="http://fitceleb.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/packetlowres_10.jpg" style="padding-bottom: 8px; padding-right: 8px; padding-top: 8px;" width="316" /></a></div>
<br />
<ul>
<li> Goody Simple Styles Spin Pin: $7.29</li>
</ul>
I am not sure if I will be able to figure out how to use these little guys haha. They are spiral bobby pins you are supposed to spin into an updo to hold it. I put them in before I started this post and so far so good with the simple bun I did. A few pieces of hair are slipping out so I curious as to whether these will hold my thick hair. I will keep you posted- no pun intended!<br />
<br />
<img height="200" id="il_fi" src="http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41H%2BzezPPKL._SL500_AA300_.jpg" style="padding-bottom: 8px; padding-right: 8px; padding-top: 8px;" width="200" /><br />
<br />
<ul>
<li>Not Your Mother's Smooth Moves Frizz Control Hair Cream: $6.00</li>
</ul>
My friend recently bought shampoo and conditioner from this brand while we were at Ulta so I am familiar with it, but have never used it out. I tend to get frizzy hair- I think from the damage I have created with my straightener, so I am excited to use this out. It has a strong coconut scent even with the wrapper on so maybe it will make my hair smell nice as well as hopefully fighting frizz?<br />
<br />
<br />
So, overall this is an amazing box, and even more incredible because it was free!! Please let me know if you would like to sign up for Influenster- I have a few invites left. I would also love any comments about Voxboxes you have received/ if you got this one, as well as what you think of these products!! I will update this post once I have a chance to try out my new things :) so stay tuned!<br />

Hello everyone :) I am very excited for my mini post today! In a couple days I hope to do a better review of a website I first saw mentioned in a Youtube video quite a few months ago. Influenster is a site both men and women can use to look up new products out there on the market and then give their feedback. You can even ask other consumers of the products questions you may have. What drew me in to Influenster though was the mention of FREE stuff!! <br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.influenster.com/">http://www.influenster.com</a> (Here is the link)<br />
<br />
That is right FREE STUFF! I signed up for an account thinking it must be too good to be true. I figured the girl on Youtube was lucky enough to get a Voxbox- more on this in a bit- because she did so many videos and the company wanted her to spread the word so they could get more business. I have since found out this really is not a scam- it is an amazing way to try new things and get your opinions out about products as well! Last week my friend who signed up at the same time as me got an e-mail saying she had qualified for the Bride-To-Be Voxbox and should be expecting it in the mail soon!<br />
<br />
Now, what is a Voxbox you ask? A Voxbox is a box shipped to your house with lots of various products in it that you get to keep for free!! On the Influenster site there are many surveys you can take once you sign up for an account. You can earn badges by taking the surveys, and then Influenster will keep track of your answers on there and let you know if you qualify for one of their upcoming Voxboxes. There are surveys on there for everyone from people who are all about living a healthy lifestyle, moms, men, dog and cat lovers to college students, and travelers. You are sure to find something on there that applies to you in some way!<br />
<br />
<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="float: right; margin-left: 1em; text-align: right;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/561891_417581918290542_1524500899_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img alt="" border="0" class="spotlight" height="302" src="https://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/561891_417581918290542_1524500899_n.jpg" style="height: 330px; width: 437px;" width="400" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Here is a picture of what my friend received from the Influenster Facebook Page</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
From what I can tell there is at least one Voxbox every season, but Influenster seems to be sending out more now then they were in the beginning. My friend received a box with products such as shampoo, conditioner, fake eyelashes and beauty water in it for free! On the site there is not even a single spot for you to put your credit card information, and therefore no way for you to be charged :) All she has to do in return is fill out reviews on the products she received after trying them out!<br />
<br />
<br />
I have even better news for you too! Influenster just re-did their entire website! I found the website hard to figure out when I first signed up, but now I really understand the "company" (I am not sure if that is what they would be called?), due to their new set up. It is much easier to figure out what you should do to move yourself closer to being chosen for a Voxbox. Influenster gives you a score based on how many surveys you have done, you influence through Youtube, Blogs, Facebook, and Twitter as well as product reviews. The more points you have the better!!<br />
<br />
I am thrilled, because just the other day I found out a Beauty Blogger Voxbox is on it's way to me!! All I had to do was follow the simple task directions on my account page, and now I have surprise products being sent to me. I cannot wait to receive them and share with you what I got in a post soon!<br />
<br />
I will have more details about this service once my first Voxbox comes, and if you have any questions feel free to ask! I believe they just changed the website to being by invitation only. <span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">Whew, it has been quite some time since I have been on here! I am so happy that I heard from some of my readers asking when I would be doing the next post (it always shocks me to find I actually have readers ;) ). I truly appreciate each and every one of you who takes the time to even scroll through the pictures on here, and apologize it has been so long. Summer was the perfect time for me to post as I am a teacher, and now that school is back in full swing grading papers and lesson planning are I use my computer for all day everyday it seems.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">Anyways, today both my October Julep Maven box, and add-ons came in the mail! This month Julep went hardcore on the Halloween theme, and the polishes were labeled as simply bewitching. I was really torn as to which style to go with as the featured polishes this month were crackles. I have only had one experience with crackles in the past- my sisters bought a bottle and let me try it out- I thought the effect was really cool, but not something I could see myself wearing too often, and sadly the whole bottle dried up in less than a month. I was debating with a friend which box to go for since I had a free monthly referral left - THANK YOU!!! Then, just when I thought I had my mind made up Julep decided to be even more awesome and come out with a Maven's Choice box featuring zero crackles! The same day I also found a black OPI crackle at Ulta for $3- yipee!! :) Now I can still do the orange with black crackle on top mani I was planning for my kiddos Halloween party, and get a Maven box with colors I will use on a much more regular basis! Oh happy day!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">The Maven's Choice box included:</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">I had my eye on the blue (of course) and the reddish Keira so I was quite happy with this box minus the fact that it did not come with the monthly product of quick dry drops, so naturally I had to add those on. . .and Leslie since I have been wanting a black, and don't forget Caroline the lovely shimmery red that reminds me of the song Sweet Caroline and takes me back to college hockey/ football games ;)</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">Here is what my Maven's Choice box looked like:</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-_5Knh_cPmVA/UGoc9n2kqGI/AAAAAAAAAgA/XCnzjlxDQls/s1600/mavenschoice.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="278" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-_5Knh_cPmVA/UGoc9n2kqGI/AAAAAAAAAgA/XCnzjlxDQls/s400/mavenschoice.jpg" width="400" /></a></span></div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;"> Julep threw in two glitter pots- an orange, and black as well as candy corns!! Have I mentioned I LOVE Fall? It is the very best season, and I adore everything associated with it so cannot wait to eat up these candy corns haha. I like my Maven's Choice colors (Lisa is for sure more gray than it shows up in this picture- I apologize that I still do not have batteries for my good camera so used my phone).</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">I am most excited about my add-ons however :) </span><br />

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;"><br /></span>
<ul>
<li><span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">Leslie- Black and silver specked shimmer</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">Caroline- Darkest burgundy shimmer</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;"> Quick Dry Drops</span></li>
</ul>
<br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;"><span id="goog_388068621"></span><span id="goog_388068622"></span><br />I felt the need to paint my nails with these right away. They are gorgeous in the bottle, and I wish you could see them better in my picture!! Both really shine, and Caroline does look, well, bewitching. </span><span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">Both polishes applied quite nicely and gave full coverage in one coat :) The shimmer in Leslie is very faint, but you can really see a silver shine as the light catches it. Caroline has more silver shimmer, but keeps the rich burgundy color you see in the bottle as well. I thought Leslie would be my favorite, but Caroline has trumped her. The quick dry polish drops were fun to use, and spread out nicely on my finger nail. I just had to put one small drop near the cuticle. My polish dried right away as promised. The smell reminds me of a bathroom cleaner scent, so is not so great, but it is also not turbo strong or nasty either. I can deal with it much more than the scent of my recent fast drying top coat from Julep.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;"><br /></span>

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">Here are my finished nails. Again, I apologize for the jankity picture taken on my phone!! You can see though that both colors are quite dark. My accent nail doesn't really pop like normal, but I like the suttle look. I can see myself using both of these colors frequently :) I am so happy they only take one coat per nail and will last me longer! </span></div>

<br />
Talk about SUPER!! Recently I e-mailed the company Supergoop to see if they sent out samples. I had heard about the creatively named company via Birchbox, but sadly had never been the lucky recipient of their monthly samples. Skin care has always been important to me ever since I was little. My mom did an amazing job stressing the importance of ALWAYS wearing sunscreen to me and my siblings from a extremely young age. I have never been to a tanning bed, and like to tell people it is because I am anti-cancer, which is true. When I saw a company focused fully around protecting skin I was immediately intrigued.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Back in the day when I was working at a summer camp getting a great tan, minus the tan lines from socks haha, was no problem for me. Although I have always worn sunscreen, I was blessed with a golden complexion, and would tan right through it. The only time I can remember getting burnt was when my group of friends fell asleep on the top deck of a boat when we went to Mexico on a school trip. Sadly my days of easy tanning seem to be behind me as I am rarely out in the sun anymore. I highly dislike wearing shorts as well so my legs are becoming more Casper the ghost pale with each passing season. </div>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: small;">Supergoop Self Tanning Sunscreen Mousse on the right</span></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div style="text-align: center;">
When I first inquired about Supergoop I figured they just had sunscreen type products, but I was pleasantly surprised when Supergoop Self Tanning Sunscreen Mousse showed up on my doorstep!! I had to give this a try straight away especially on my legs! Upon researching the product I found that not only is it a two in one self tanner/ SPF 20, but it also includes antioxidants which are great for your skin, and is towel and clothing safe. I have tried many other self tanners, and have always had to be so careful about washing my hands right away after application so they wouldn't turn orange, and allowing it to dry thoroughly before getting dressed. With this product I didn't have to worry about rushing to the sink or postponing getting ready for 10 extra minutes which was the first of many great qualities about it.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Although the product says it is a mousse I would describe it as a rich tinted lotion. Application was easy as the lotion went on smoothly and evenly without extra effort. A little went a long way, and it didn't leave me with a greasy feeling or take forever to rub in completely. I was also pleased by the refreshing smell of the product. It does have a slight beachy, sunscreen type odor, but compared to other self tanners it is very mild and covered almost completely by other scents of green tea and cucumber. I have been using the tanner for a few weeks now and it has not turned me orange :) I am always weary of turning into an oompa- loompa when using self tanners!! The effect so far has been gradual as the name of the product suggests, but I can see a difference. I have to say I am loving this product! It is giving me the tan look I long for, and provides protection from the sun all in one. I would highly recommend you trying it out!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The product I was sent is a very generous size so I am still using it, and will be sure to post an after picture when I am out. Here is the before (sorry for posting my leg, this is daring for me as I am not a huge fan of them) and in the middle of use pictures :</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
The second product I was so graciously sent is adorable, and so handy. It is called Supergoop SPF 30 Sunstick. What a great idea!! This little gem can easily be thrown in my purse for on the go, and gives great protection. There is good amount of product included in the sturdy packaging as well, and the user simply turns the yellow knob at the bottom when they are in need of more. No messy liquid to apply either with the sunstick so you do not have to worry about it leaking in your bag. I have found myself reaching for this little guy many times since receiving it. I quite enjoy not having to remember to bring the bulky container of sunscreen that weighs done my purse every time I think I might be outside. The sunscreen applies well without the greasy residue most leave behind or the overwhelming scent. A must have for busy individuals frequently on the go, or with children!!</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
Overall, I have to give Supergoop an A+ rating. Their products are are creative, time and money saving. So far they have also proven to be highly effective giving the exact results they claim to be able to give users :) Have to love that! I truly cannot thank Supergoop enough for allowing me to test out these products!!! It is amazing to be sent full size products to test. I am extremely grateful and I will surely be purchasing more! These are only two of the many products this innovative brand carries so be sure to check out these and others at <a href="http://www.supergoop.com/">www.supergoop.com</a>. I hope you enjoy them as much as me! Please let me know if you have used anything from Supergoop before. I love hearing from you!</div>

</div>
<br />
<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">
So, this month of Julep is crazy!! I was lucky enough to win a golden box a few days ago via the Julep Nail Parlor Facebook page, AND found the September box previews early! The official previews came out today on their site/ blog and in e-mails to Mavens. Thankfully they are the same as the leaked previews I found early and wrote about in my previous post!</div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">
Julep told me upon winning my golden box I would still need to specify a style to them, as they were doing something different with golden boxes for the month of September and they are to be style specific. Very, very sneaky Julep ;) Today on my account I saw this:</div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">
<a href="http://www.julep.com/MyAccount/New-Styles/New-Style-TT.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img alt="" border="0" class="thumb" height="293" src="http://www.julep.com/MyAccount/New-Styles/New-Style-TT.jpg" style="opacity: 1;" width="400" /></a>Normally this would be a golden box as it is all the products for the month of September. This month however you can get your regular monthly box for the standard $19.99 and purchase the whole collection for an extra $30- so essentially buy yourself the old version of the golden box.</div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">
<a href="http://www.julep.com/images/emails/maven_preview/ab_goldenbox_header.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="260" src="http://www.julep.com/images/emails/maven_preview/ab_goldenbox_header.jpg" style="border: medium none;" width="320" /></a> Somewhat sadly, the golden box this month will only have five polishes in it. From this small picture I believe it will be the five polishes featured on the Trina Turk site- Otte, Delauney, Hoch, Alma, and Gunta. It will also have a special surprise in it though! It says the box is a $108 value which means the surprise is worth $38! Knowing Julep the surprise will probably rock. I am assuming it is a different surprise for each style profile, or they wouldn't have had me pick a style?</div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">
Since the golden box won't have the mascara that made me the lucky winner of a golden box (I guessed first on the Julep FB page that mascara would be the new product for Sept), and I have a free credit for the month of September- THANK YOU for using my referral link to sign up-<a href="http://julep.com/?r=21739311">http://julep.com/?r=21739311</a>, I decided to to switch from my regular American Beauty style:</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: small;">I think Hoch is coming in the golden box (fingers crossed as I LOVE it, and I don't need another white- I recently got Kate)</span></div>

To the Boho Glam box since I want to try the mascara, and really want Popova!! Blue is my very favorite color so I am not sad to be getting two Guntas this month, and I had to have the mascara! I have never tried brown so I hope it will look good with my green eyes, brown hair, and dark eyelashes??</div>

Julep September 2012 Boxes<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;">
Whoa!! I am not sure how this happened?!? A couple weeks ago I saw a picture on Jane Park's (creator of Julep Maven) Facebook page. She was wearing a new Julep color featured on the Trina Turk website <a href="http://www.trinaturk.com/Julep-Nail-Color/c/765">http://www.trinaturk.com/Julep-Nail-Color/c/765</a> called Otte. I commented asking if Mavens (subscribers to Julep Maven) would see these colors in their boxes soon. She said yes we would!!</div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;">
Just now I went on Google to see if anyone had put up swatches of these Trina Turk colors, and found the box previews for the month of September that usually do not come out until the 20th! Looks like September will feature the Trina Turk collection if these pictures are correct, plus more colors and brown and black mascara as the products!</div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;">
Today I won a Golden Box via the Julep Nail Parlor Facebook page! I was told that Golden Boxes were based on the style of box you chose this month- that they are doing something different. Hmm. I wonder what that means?? I guess I will find out on Monday when I talk to the lady from Julep again about which style I would like :) I hope I get all these colors/ mascaras shown below!! I am extremely excited!!</div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;">
So here we go, if these are correct that would be awesome! Like I said I cannot guarantee it until the official previews come out the 20th:</div>

<b><span style="font-size: small;">Hey everyone!! I just wanted to so a short little preview of some of the samples/ freebies/ giveaway products I have been ever so lucky enough to receive or win recently. I have tried a few of these, just received some, and am waiting on others. So, bottom line, you should see posts reviewing each one shortly. I want to make sure I really give them a good chance before putting up my two cents worth on here :) </span></b></div>
<b><span style="font-size: small;"><br /></span></b>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b><span style="font-size: small;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-g3F9TEaHvtY/UCvrNNR-fFI/AAAAAAAAAcs/e4xy--APUjw/s1600/fructis.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-g3F9TEaHvtY/UCvrNNR-fFI/AAAAAAAAAcs/e4xy--APUjw/s400/fructis.jpg" width="400" /></a></span></b></div>
<b><span style="font-size: small;"><br /></span></b>
<br />
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">
<b><span style="font-size: small;">The first sample I recently found in the mail is<u> <span style="font-size: small;">Fructis Fall Fight Shampoo and Conditioner</span></u>. It is made to help you keep your hair haha. Seriously though, I think it is absolutely gross when I get finished doing my hair and see all the strands on the sink ugh. The Fall Fight duo is designed to prevent unwanted shedding. I have tried this once, and it smells terrific, and left my hair looking nice. I will use the rest and let you know what I think! I doubt I will be able to to tell if it really works in the sample size, but it was great to get in the mail!</span></b></div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">
<b><span style="font-size: small;"><br /></span></b></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: center;">
<b><span style="font-size: small;"><u>Suki Skincare</u> was beyond nice enough to send me out some makeup and skin care samples!! I recently purchased their travel sized Balancing Kit off of the Birchbox site as well so will be doing a full length review on the products soon. So far, sooo good!!</span></b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">
<b><span style="font-size: small;">In the mail a few weeks ago I also found a <u>Wen Sweet Almond Mint Cleansing Conditioner</u>. I knew you are supposed to use this product instead of Shampoo, but looked up the infomercial for more details. They want you to use 20 pumps of this stuff per side of your head! Whoa! I find that crazy, but what do I know? I tried it once using about half of this bottle. I loved its smell, and de-tangling powers! It left my hair looking great, but only for a few hours. Then it started to feel yucky, and greasy. I rinsed it out like crazy so was surprised to feel a build up on my scalp. Not sure if I used enough product I guess, but I thought using the whole bottle in one wash seemed like a huge waste?</span></b></div>

<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">
<b><span style="font-size: small;">Jilladair Flawless Complexion Gel primer is a product I should have coming in the mail soon! I was lucky enough to win it off of Your Beauty Junkie's blog <a href="http://yourbeautyjunkie.com/">http://yourbeautyjunkie.com/</a>!! She has a wonderful video tutorial using this product as well as others. I sure hope my skin comes out looking as amazing as hers. I will keep you posted (literally ;) ). The makeup is not only supposed to hide your complexion flaws, but is good for your skin and can be used with or without foundation as it provides that much coverage. I am stoked to find out how it works on me!!</span></b></div>

<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">
<b><span style="font-size: small;">After hearing tons of Birchbox subscribers rant about Melvita's Rose Water Floral Water spray, I emailed Melvita USA about their products. Although they were out of Rose Water samples they sent me these three samples in the mail! I am yet to try them, but have the Orange Blossom Extraordinary Water Moisturizer, Serum Balancing Fluid Moisturizer, and a Purifying Clay Mask. I have big plans for the mask tonight. I will let you know!</span></b></div>

<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">
<b><span style="font-size: small;"><a href="http://www.thestylishhousewife.com/">http://www.thestylishhousewife.com/</a>. She hosted a twitter party along with Crocs. I somehow was one of the lucky winners they chose based on joining in the conversation! These came in the mail about a week later. They are comfy, and I actually quite like them. I used to despise the what I find to be ugly clog like Crocs people would wear, but now the company has some cute shoes on their site. I chose these because I love flip flops, they have a little heel to help with my height challenge, and the leather strap is really nice. I am all about being comfy as well. $40 shoes for free! Got to love it :) Thanks!!</span></b></div>

<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">
<b><span style="font-size: small;"> Today upon checking the mail I was pleasently surprised to find samples from <u>Supergoop</u>! I also recently aqcuired about their products via e-mail, and a very kind representative checked out my blog (YAY!!!) then sent me these. The package included <u>Self Tanning Mousse</u> which has SPF 20 in it, and a <u>SPF 30 Sunstick</u>! I am highly against tanning beds, and well cancer in general, so having the proper SPF on has been a concern of mine since I was little. I am lucky enough to have a wonderful mom who among countless other things, made sure I knew the importance of protecting our skin from the sun. I am getting on the pale side in a big bad way lately though, as I don't get outside as much as I used to :( I am very excited to give this sunless tanner a try, and review it for you! What amazing "samples" too. A value of $36 dollars! Wow, thank you Supergoop!!!!</span></b></div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">
<b><span style="font-size: small;"><br /></span></b></div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">
<b><span style="font-size: small;">Last, but certainly not least I have to tell you about what I won today!!! Those of you who have read my blog/ know me, know about my new obsession with <u>Julep Maven</u>! Today on their facebook page they had us guess what product they will be sending members in their September boxes. The first one to guess correctly would win a golden box for the month of September. Normally you have to chose one monthly box containing either 3 polishes, or 2 polishes and a product. Golden boxes have all the products from all five of the boxes- so usually 10 polishes and four products! Anyways, I WON!!!!!</span></b></div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">
<b><span style="font-size: small;">I guessed the product would be mascara, and I was right :) On the 20th members get to see the new polish colors. I cannot wait to see what I will get, but am beyond thrilled! Mascara/ eyeliner are my favorite beauty products as well so this is a super added bonus. If you have any questions about Julep let me know, or check out my other posts! You can try it for a penny here <a href="http://julep.com/?r=21739311">http://julep.com/?r=21739311 </a>using promo code COLOR2012 at checkout :).</span></b></div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">
<b><span style="font-size: small;"><br /></span></b></div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">
<b><span style="font-size: small;">I cannot believe my luck lately at all!! I am so thankful to all the companies and bloggers who have sent me samples, and hosted giveaways! It is safe to say I am addicted to receiving samples, and mail!! I would love to know if you have any of these products/ have tried them before? What did you think? Look for my reviews on them soon!! Thanks for reading :)</span></b></div>

<div style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;">
<img height="261" id="il_fi" src="http://myhighestselfblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/Birchbox-August-2012.jpg" style="padding-bottom: 8px; padding-right: 8px; padding-top: 8px;" width="320" /></div>
<span style="font-size: large;">Whew, I have been slacking on the posts lately!! There are a couple more weeks before school starts up again, and that is where my mind is right now. I will try to keep doing posts throughout the school year! Recently I have received quite a few samples/ won a couple giveaways!! I plan on trying out my new products and letting you know how I fancy them. If I get to it there might even be a couple today...yes, I am that behind sorry!!</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Anywho (oh, that reminds me of stick stickly- anyone know what I mean ;) ) I got my August Birchbox! I actually received this bright yellow Back to School Beauty on the 13th. Many of the boxes seemed to go out extra early this month, so there were about a billion reviews up before mine came, and the BB website let me know what I was getting. Talk about mixed feelings over the products this month. Each video or blog I read showcased a subscriber who either loved their box like crazy, or had the exact opposite feelings.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Here is what came in my box:</span></div>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-i2AyTeZdb7w/UCvOPAXvM4I/AAAAAAAAAbc/A3QtCOKsvPg/s1600/birchbox3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-i2AyTeZdb7w/UCvOPAXvM4I/AAAAAAAAAbc/A3QtCOKsvPg/s400/birchbox3.jpg" width="400" /></a></span></div>
<ul style="text-align: center;">
<li><span style="font-size: large;"> A Beauty School Booklet with beauty tips/ the products listed</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: large;">Schick Hydro Silk Razor plus coupons for $4 off another razor/ refill, and one for .55cents off any Skintimate Shave Gel</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: large;">Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eyeliner in Oscar Fish </span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: large;">Viva La Juicy La Fleur perfume sample</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: large;">Yu Be Moisturizing Skin Cream for dry skin and lips</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: large;">Caldrea Palmarosa Wild Mint Hand Soap </span></li>
</ul>
<span style="font-size: large;">So, here is what I think- eh oh this month's box. To start off razors are expensive, so even though most people seemed to hate getting a razor this month I welcomed it!</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><a href="http://chaosandcliche.files.wordpress.com/2012/08/dsc00294.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" id="il_fi" src="http://chaosandcliche.files.wordpress.com/2012/08/dsc00294.jpg" style="padding-bottom: 8px; padding-right: 8px; padding-top: 8px;" width="182" /></a></span></div>
<span style="font-size: large;"> I also was SO excited to see I was getting the Stila eyeliner. It is not only full size, but my favorite beauty products are eyeliner and mascara! I have been so envious of the ladies with the Eyeko London Fat Stick eyeliner, and liquid eyeliner in their boxes the last couple of months. This is not only my first eye product in a Birchbox, but my first Stila one :) It is in a brown sparkly color, and I always wear black. I have green eyes so brown will work for me (thank goodness I didn't get the blue one) and I was looking forward to trying something new. Unfortunately mine is broken! I tried to twist the tube and the product will not go up or down. I sent out an e-mail and am waiting to hear from Birchbox about it. I did hear from them about my suggestion to allow more choices on our profiles such as saying we love eye products, and they sent me a very nice e-mail including the information that they are working on this feature!!</span><br />

<span style="font-size: large;">The Viva La Juicy Perfume smells great, and is in a spray bottle instead of the little tube so that was a welcome sample :) The full sized cost $70 bucks so it is nice to be able to try a product I cannot afford haha.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">The Yu Be Moisturizing Skin Cream is interesting as you can use it on lips and feet- okay, that is kind of weird actually haha. I think I will stick to one or the other especially since it is tiny. Only point one fluid ounce which is barely anything :(</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><a href="https://www.birchbox.com/shop/media/catalog/product/cache/1/small_image/220x/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/y/u/yube_moisturizingskincream_900x900.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" id="il_fi" src="https://www.birchbox.com/shop/media/catalog/product/cache/1/small_image/220x/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/y/u/yube_moisturizingskincream_900x900.jpg" style="padding-bottom: 8px; padding-right: 8px; padding-top: 8px;" width="200" /></a></span></div>
<span style="font-size: large;">I have no idea what Palmarosa is but it smells pretty nice, and upon looking it up I found out it is a sort of grass? As far as soap samples go I am not too over the moon about them or anything haha. It would be a nice extra maybe, but was counted as an actual sample this time.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">My third Birchbox was alright, but I think I may have been spoiled in the previous two months? This month had a lot less samples overall. I think the broken eyeliner really brought me down too. I think I will see how next month goes, and then either keep going with the subscription or give it a break for a while. What do you think of my box? Did you get one? Let me know below please lovelies :)</span>Living Lovelyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10528760699710168842noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3271159035486118229.post-45546110301330934772012-08-08T11:53:00.000-07:002012-08-08T11:53:04.222-07:00Julep August 2012 Boho Glam Mystery Box<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Julep got me once again with a mystery box promotion. This time was a little different than in the past since they gave you the option of which box style you would like to choose. In the past you just ordered a mystery box and that was that. Being as indecisive as they come, and over thinking things to the max as I always do, I had quite the time deciding whether to get a box as well as which to pick! I, of course, ended up ordering one, and went with Boho Glam since I have never had that style before and there are a lot of BG polishes on my wishlist :)</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">I was SO excited when my "your Julep order is on it's way" email popped up in my inbox. To double my excitement the tracking number started with the ever popular 9434 (Mavens have found these boxes are the heavier ones sent package services, and therefore seem to contain more goodies). In the past my tracking numbers have always started with 9400, so I was thrilled to see otherwise this time! </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Sadly, my box was not as big as I thought it would be due to the tracking number, but still included a good number of products! It also arrived quick as a bunny! I just ordered it a couple days ago :)</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">My box included:</span></div>

<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: large;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-cT3rZ3UFZ-Y/UCKw-CFilGI/AAAAAAAAAbA/maELxhEzdR4/s1600/IMG_1412.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-cT3rZ3UFZ-Y/UCKw-CFilGI/AAAAAAAAAbA/maELxhEzdR4/s640/IMG_1412.JPG" width="522" /></a></span></td></tr>

</tbody></table>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"> I am happy that the Pedi Prep came in my box with the file as I have been wanting to try it. I really like how the Best Pedi Creme ever leaves my feet feeling/ how it gets off all the nasty dryness. I tried this out this morning when I got my box with the file and have mixed feeling though. The pedi prep is smelly and a lot seemed to come out! It is in a roller ball container so that is very nice, and less messy for my hands, but not for the container or my foot. It also has a strong smell- not horrible, but not good. The file worked pretty well, but seems like it could break easily if I apply too much pressure. It was very bendable if that is even a word haha. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Blake is a lovely yellow I have wanted for some time now! She looks quite bubbly so I will have to test her out soon hmm. Michelle also looked so pretty as I love blues. I went to unwrap it however and realized it was leaking EVERYWHERE, even under the plastic wrapping! I had to do a big clean up of all the polishes (go figure the darkest one decides to leak haha). I haven't had this happen before so it was strange. I am not sure if the bottle is broken somewhere or if it just got too hot? I even got this package right out of the mailman's hands though. He rang the doorbell because there was .45 cent postage on a letter for my sister. I paid it then found out it was something dumb from a representative running for office. Grr. Oh well, it probably saved me a bigger mess.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Alyson by the way is interesting to me. Kind of a lighter shade of Vera I got in my last mystery box. I might end up liking it, but it is not something I would buy on my own. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">All in all, besides the mess factor, and losing polish I am happy with this box. I now get to try out some products I wanted to, but were too expensive for me to buy on their own, and the beautiful Blake. I think I am done with mystery boxes, but am not upset that I decided to buy one more.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">If you want to try out Julep for a penny I highly recommend the product :) You can get an intro box for a penny right now! Just take a short quiz to find out what your colors are, and switch if you do not like them (different from the mystery boxes and a nice option). To get yours go to <a href="http://julep.com/?r=21739311">http://julep.com/?r=21739311</a> and enter the promo code COLOR2012 at checkout. If you have any questions about Julep feel free to ask, and check out my other posts :)</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<span style="font-size: large;">Did you get a mystery box? What did you get? What do you think of mine? I would love to hear from you!!</span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;">Today is only 2nd of the month, but I am already anxious for the August Birchbox! In June and July (this will be my third BB) I didn't have any trouble finding "spoilers" about what type of products I could expect. So far this month, Birchbox has seemed to stay more secretive about what is in store for our August boxes. I finally found hint though, and am now ten times more excited to receive the highly awaited "your box has been shipped" email.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">On the Birchbox Blog there are now two posts about August boxes :) Birchbox is teaming up with an organization called Pencils for Promise. Pencils for Promise helps to build schools in areas around the world for children in need. Throughout the month of August 15% proceeds of all items bought in the Birchbox shop will be donated to Pencils for Promise. The organization has a goal to build 100 schools before the year is over, and they have already build 58! Birchbox proceeds will go towards the building of a school in Guatemala. The August boxes will be Beauty School themed to go along with the efforts of Pencils for Promise :)</span></div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">As a teacher I am thrilled to be subscribed with a company that is doing its part to help children!! It makes me feel good knowing that there are still companies out there that do not just hoard the millions of dollars they make, but instead use what they can to give back to others. Birchbox is still keeping the actual products we may see in these fun yellow packages on the down low, but I hope their preview video comes out soon! </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">What are your thoughts on the Birchbox/ Pencils for Promise collaboration? Do you have any predictions of what beauty products we might see? I would love to hear your ideas, and also find out what you would love to see in the August box! :)</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I will be sure to post again if I find out more details/ when I receive my box. After getting Suki balancing skincare samples in my July BB, I also decided to purchase it from the shop last week. I will be doing a review on my Suki products soon so keep an eye out!!</span><br />

<span style="font-size: large;">WOW!!!Today I received my It Girl Julep Maven August Box, AND my Add-ons! The box ships every month on the 27th, and this month my add-ons shipped the 28th. That is some impressive shipping considering I am on the east coast, and Julep products ship out of Washington! Can you tell I am excited ;) It was very refreshing to have speedy shipping this month after the holiday held back many boxes in the month of July.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Anyways, besides the fact that my products got here mega quickly this month was special, because it marked the one year anniversary of the Julep Maven program :) Julep hosted an online twitter/ facebook party the July 19th to celebrate. Julep also sent each Maven a tote bag in their boxes, and allowed us to pick 3 add-ons this month instead of the usual 2. The theme of August you ask? -Metallics and Chromes. I was not super interested in any of the colors this month and did I had a hard time choosing my box, but I eventually picked It Girl over my style of American Beauty.</span></div>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: large;">The monthly box was a lot bigger this month due to the tote bag inside. <span style="font-size: large;">I am very impressed at how pretty all the colors are this month. I honestly did not expect to like them so much. Melanie sold the It Girl box to me, as I love the color blue, but I was actually most impressed with Sienna which surprised me! Sienna is a very shimmery gold that looks like it has millions of tiny sparkles in it. All three of my It Girl polishes applied nicely giving full coverage in one coat :) </span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;">I am also happy with my add-ons, especially that this month the swatches Julep provided really showed a true representation of the actual product. Piper has to be my favorite shade, but goes on very lightly. Felicity is a true yellow gold and is also fair in color, while Alfre is a much darker polish and more opaque.</span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;">Just wanted to do a quick little post on the new nail polish color I picked up at Target yesterday! Recently Essie put out a new line of five polishes called the Mirror Metallics Collection. I have never tried an Essie before, but have been seeing the trend of rose gold polish all over, and Essie happened to have a lovely shade of it :) I found Essie Penny Talk at Target for $7.79. I have to say I absolutely love the color! I think it is also a nice Olympic Manicure (so excited they are finally on)- almost a bronze more than a gold color, but I am rooting for Team U.S.A to bring home the gold!!</span></div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">The polish went out very opaque in one coat! The shine is amazing and very bright. I am going to have to try out more Essie (just what I need more polish right ;) )Have you tried Essie or the Mirror Metallics Collection? What do you think? I know Julep has a rose gold polish coming out for the month of August. I did not order it, but an excited to see it on others first. Maybe this beautiful Essie will even keep me from buying two Maven boxes this month?</span></div>Living Lovelyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10528760699710168842noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3271159035486118229.post-71074546253108084462012-07-23T12:02:00.002-07:002012-07-23T22:44:50.384-07:00Tape Mani & Nail Stamping<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">After seeing a few gorgeous tape manicures online over the past few weeks I thought I would give it a go. My nails were already painted Julep Robin from the previous day so completely dry. I got out my a few of my newest Julep shades, some electrical tape, small scissors, and got to work.</span></div>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: large;">First, I cut out random strips of the tape and stuck them down paying close attention to securing them at the edges of my nails.</span></td><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"></td><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><br /></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: large;">I kept going and used the different colors of polish at random, as well as the sizes of tape.</span></td><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><br /></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Since this was my first time trying this type of manicure I just learned from my mistakes as I went. The first thing I found out the hard way is that I am too impatient. Haha, I already knew this, but thought I was being good waiting for the polish to dry...no such luck. Some of my stripes got jagged and uneven due to me pulling up the tape too soon. The nails I let dry for quite a while before peeling up the tape turned out much better. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">I also learned to make sure I was painting all the way to the edge of my nails- this was tricky on the narrow stripes. Third, I realized not to layer on the polish too thick or it might get pulled up with the tape some as well. The electrical tape was great and didn't stick to the polish like scotch tape seems to do.</span></div>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: large;">The painting and tape peeling process</span></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">I just used q-tips and nail polish remover to attempt to clean up the messy edges. If I were to do this manicure again I would also be careful to use thinner layers of polish to avoid such a mess haha. I also would paint each nail a different color to begin with.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Even though it is still a bit messy I am pleased with my first attempt. I love the colorful Julep polishes all together and the variety of stripes. Julep still has their penny box promo going on if you want to try them- just click the Julep icon to the right of my post if you're interested!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"> I can see myself doing this again in the future, and hopefully getting better!! It is a pretty simple process so I would suggest anyone to try it! Being so new to nail art if I can do it anyone can haha. I am sure patient people would love their results ;)</span><br />

<span style="font-size: large;">A few weeks ago I also wrote that I bought my first nail stamps. Going back to my newbie nail enthusiatist status, I decided just to try out some cheap ones I found at Target for $9.99- <strike>Sally Hansen Nail Art Kit</strike> so sorry for the mistake, it is actually called Salon Express Nail Stamping Kit (as seen on tv by maybe some of you but sadly not me lol- I am a sucker for infomericals). Last night I painted my toes in my new Julep Daisy shade, and used the star nail plate with Julep Robin. With each nail I got a little better at the placement of the stamp. I was so happy that this kit actually worked!! I will post more nail stamp art in the future.</span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;">Many of you have already received your July Glamour Birchboxes, so I will just do a quick little review of mine. After seeing the preview video I was really excited for the potential products I could be receiving this month. Though I really wanted the liquid eyeliner, and did not get it, I ended up really liking my box :)</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">The packaging this month was teal blue, and lime green which are two of my best favorite colors. The variety of the products included made me very happy as well. Here's what I got:</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/--5_wzlrPPOs/UAXOBQTQMJI/AAAAAAAAAR0/J0_PO1SnYzg/s1600/IMG_1106.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/--5_wzlrPPOs/UAXOBQTQMJI/AAAAAAAAAR0/J0_PO1SnYzg/s320/IMG_1106.JPG" width="180" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b> <span style="font-size: large;">Color Club Professional Nail Lacquer in Blue-Ming:</span></b></div>
<span style="font-size: large;">I had to start with this little blue beauty! I love me some nail polish so was thrilled to see this light mint blue bottle in my Birchbox!! Blue is my favorite color by far, and I do not have a light blue like this. I currently have Julep all over my nails and toenails, but really look forward to trying this polish out :)</span><br />

<span style="font-size: large;"><b>Manna Kadar sheer glo shimmer lotion</b>:</span></div>
<span style="font-size: large;">This small bottle of lotion is supposed to add a "supermodel-like sheen to skin". It can be mixed with foundation or used as a highlighter. The bottle is so full it was spilling out a bit when I tried to open the strange upside-down cap. The liquid is veryyy shimmery so it should last a long time which is nice. I only had to put a tiny bit on to see the color. I will keep you posted (no pun intended) on how I like this over the course of the week.</span><br />

With these samples I will be able to see if I really want to purchase the full size plus try out the Concentrated Balancing Toner, Balancing Day Lotion, Pure Facial Moisturizer, and the Transforming Cleansing Clay as well :) ::fingers crossed:: for good results.</span><br />

<span style="font-size: large;">My Julep Maven July monthly box came a few weeks ago, and inside was an exciting little coupon good for a FREE polish :) I immediately had to go into the Maven boutique and order <b>Parker </b>which is described as a golden tangerine creme.</span></div>

</tbody></table>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"> I have had my eye on Parker since I joined Julep. Parker happens to be my incredible boyfriend's last name, which first attracted me to the polish itself. Now, I know that a lot of girls claim to have the best boyfriend ever, but sorry to break it to you ladies, I have been blessed with the greatest guy out there. He is selfless, and even puts up with my new found nail polish addiction. He keeps telling me I will need a walk-in nail polish closet one day...haha, now that is a tad bit extreme, but the truth is I know if I did need one (and they existed) he would make sure we had one lol. The color of Parker also reminds me of one of my alma maters color's. This makes me even happier since I was lucky enough to meet my boyfriend while we were in college. I could seriously rant about the love of my life for years, but I guess I will show you how the polish looks on my nails now...</span></div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"> I was so happy when Parker came in the mail :) When applying it I found that it does take quite a few coats to make it opaque. I used three heavy coats on my nails to build it up to this bright orange color. With one coat the color was extremely pale and I could see my nails right through it. I am very happy with the color once layered, however, I wish the polish were thicker so I did not have to use so much of it for one application.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: large;">Robin on nails- a little darker in real life (this is with no flash). A true Robin's egg blue that only took one coat :)</span></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<span style="font-size: large;">Other than using my voucher to receive Parker for free, I also bought Courteney, Daisy and the Best Pedi Creme Ever for $14.99 in a "Beat the Heat flash sale" Julep had a week ago. Julep sent me a complementary bottle of Robin when I e-mailed them about Daphne (which I received in my July box) being much darker than I expected- talk about amazing customer service!!! I am so excited to now have these "summer bright" colors which I missed out on in June having not joined until the end of the month. It was also a nice surprise to find small samples of Julep Glycolic Hand Scrub with my Robin box, and Courteney/ Daisy box. I do not have this product in the full size, but have heard great things about how smooth it makes your hands, so I will let you know how I like it soon!</span></div>

<b><span style="font-size: large;">The Best Pedi Creme Ever! </span></b></div>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I had a bottle of this that was running out from my intro box. I get really g-ross cracked heels in the winter, and have used a ton of different foot creams to try and fix them. The lotions I have used always feel good initially and make them a bit softer, but do not get rid of all of that nasty dried skin. I have not used other products labeled as pedi creams before, so cannot vogue for this being the best pedi creme ever, haha, but it really has helped get that unwanted skin/ roughness off of my feet. The bottle is quite small, so I was excited to get another one in the Beat the Heat sale, and that Julep included a small packet of it with my Parker nail polish. I would recommend this product to anyone who wants softer feet. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span><br />
<span style="color: black; font-size: large;">If you are interested in trying Julep you can get an intro box for a penny right now :)</span><span style="color: #6fa8dc; font-size: large;"> Just use the link </span><span class="commentBody" data-jsid="text"><span style="color: black; font-size: large;"><a href="http://julep.com/?r=21739311" rel="nofollow nofollow" target="_blank">http://julep.com/<wbr></wbr>?r=21739311</a> </span><span style="color: #6fa8dc;"><span style="color: black; font-size: large;">and enter the promo code <b>COLOR2012</b>.
Julep will have you take a little quiz to see what your style is (which
intro box you get). It takes about two minutes. Don't like the style
they chose for you? Just retake the quiz, or pick a different style
after you view the amazing color choices. If you have any questions about Julep feel free to comment below or check out my previous Julep posts! <a href="http://livinglovely11.blogspot.com/2012/06/julep.html">My Intro Box </a>I purchased for a penny is shown in the link here :)</span></span></span><br />

<img height="240" id="il_fi" src="http://nowurthinking.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/halloween-candy_1.jpg" style="padding-bottom: 8px; padding-right: 8px; padding-top: 8px;" width="320" /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">I have been blessed with the opportunity to have a career in teaching :) Currently I teach third grade, and I also did my student teaching in a third grade classroom. Next year will be my second year of teaching which seems insane! It really does not seem like I could have survived ;) my first year yet haha. Teaching is the most difficult, hectic, challenging, wonderful, fulfilling, rewarding thing in the world.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">With that I would like to present to you my first teaching post :) When trying to decide where to even start I decided why not at the beginning...kinda. I have had so many opportunities to be in various classrooms, but student teaching as many of you know, is the first chance to feel like you have you are a real educator. So, student teaching it is. For third grade, at least in the state I live, one of the social studies standards is all about learning how to interpret, and create timelines. When student teaching I thought ahhhh! How am I going to make timelines exciting?? Luckily, I had the most incredible mentor teacher there is, and she helped me come up with some sweet ideas!!( Literally, I cannot sing her praises enough, and am so thankful for the amazing staff who accepted me so graciously and helped me through every aspect of student teaching, and still support me- I miss you all so much!!!) Wanting to make the learning relate to the student's interest we thought well, what do kids like...candy! I also did a toy timeline activity I will have to find and post at a later date.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">For my Having A Sweet Time"line" lesson the students were presented with a list of popular candies, and the dates they were created with facts about each product in a random date order. The students task was to assemble a timeline in chronological order using these dates. This project was at the beginning of our timeline unit so served as quite the informal assessment of whether the students knew basic chronological order/ had been comprehending the basic intro to timeline lessons we did a few days ago.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Here are the finished products :)</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-e6Z-1e0ddLU/T_29jIOepbI/AAAAAAAAAPI/FWtnRy5NLWA/s1600/image%25285%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="238" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-e6Z-1e0ddLU/T_29jIOepbI/AAAAAAAAAPI/FWtnRy5NLWA/s320/image%25285%2529.jpg" width="320" /></a><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-HbiMqgpSKvE/T_29l6xWoOI/AAAAAAAAAPQ/pIFSdYfgwJI/s1600/image_1%25281%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="146" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-HbiMqgpSKvE/T_29l6xWoOI/AAAAAAAAAPQ/pIFSdYfgwJI/s200/image_1%25281%2529.jpg" width="200" /></a></span></div>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-jkGBTxo5kn0/T_29mh4vhMI/AAAAAAAAAPY/9A2Kapk1OJA/s1600/image_1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="270" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-jkGBTxo5kn0/T_29mh4vhMI/AAAAAAAAAPY/9A2Kapk1OJA/s400/image_1.jpg" width="400" /></a></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"> If I were to do this project again I would think of a better way to display it lol. It ended up looking kinda wonky in the hallway because they were so long they could not all fit on our one bulletin board and the bricks did not want to let any type of adhesive stick to them. I would also have the students assemble the strips of cardboard (I did it all by myself and it took a longgg time).</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"> As more of an extension activity I would love for students to cut out colored pictures of candies and then look up the dates they were created and use them as more personalized timelines.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Overall the kids enjoyed making their timelines, and the objectives were met. The students even surprised me quizzing their friends by asking them questions such as how many years after Reese cups were invented did someone invent m&ms? It was great to see them pose questions similar to the ones I had been asking them in class! I hope you enjoy this sweet little project :)</span></div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Times,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Those of you who are familiar with the Julep Maven program
know that each month you get one box of nail products in the mail. You have
from the 20th-24th to decide if you want to keep the style of box you get as
result of the quiz when you signed up for the program, switch to a different
style or skip the month. Even though I decided to switch from my original
American Beauty style for my July Julep box to It Girl this month, once I saw
other bloggers swatches and reviews I just had to order this box as well! I was
excited that in the Maven Boutique I could choose a box with Oh Canada in it
(being from the USA I received the sparkling America in my It Girl Box). I also
really wanted to try out the new lip gloss which retails for $18. Since my
entire box only cost me $19.99 getting such a pricey item inside seemed to
justify the purchase ;).</span></div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Times,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">If you would like to try out Julep simply click
here:http://julep.com/?r=21739311, take a short quiz, enter the promo code
COLOR2012 at checkout, and you can get an intro box for a penny!! Yupp, only a
penny! If you are interested in more details about Julep feel free to comment
below, or refer to my Julep Intro Box post :)</span></div>

<div style="font-family: Times,"Times New Roman",serif; font-weight: normal; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"> Lynn went on very light in color, and I used two generous coats to get this deeper pale pink color. I did my best with the tips...I am still a newbie so bare with me please :) Yumi applied nicely and is so gorgeous. I love the way these two colors go together. I really feel like a pretty, pretty princess!</span></div>
<div style="font-family: Times,"Times New Roman",serif; font-weight: normal; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Times,"Times New Roman",serif; font-weight: normal; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">I am yet to try out Oh Canada, but so excited to have the chance to own it. As I mentioned in my last post I have a strong love for Canada. </span></div>
<div style="font-family: Times,"Times New Roman",serif; font-weight: normal; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Times,"Times New Roman",serif; font-weight: normal; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">As for my Peony lip gloss...I sadly cannot say that I love it. The tube is nice, and lightweight making it easy to throw into your purse. That is the plus side. The tube makes quite the loud suction sound when you pull the wand out to apply the gloss. It is a milky extremely light pink color that, despite other reviews I have seen, I find to be sticky. It is a pretty shade and smells like delicious cupcakes, but is not quite what I was expecting for an $18 product from my beloved Julep. I still am happy I got to try out the lip gloss for a much cheaper price than if I got curious about it and bought it from the site on my own.</span></div>
<div style="font-family: Times,"Times New Roman",serif; font-weight: normal; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Times,"Times New Roman",serif; font-weight: normal; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Overall, I am happy I ordered the American Beauty box. The colors are just so pretty, and nice additions to my little collection.</span></div>
<div style="font-family: Times,"Times New Roman",serif; font-weight: normal; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Times,"Times New Roman",serif; font-weight: normal; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Now for some randomness:</span></div>
<div style="font-family: Times,"Times New Roman",serif; font-weight: normal; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">The other day my sister was nice enough to let me give her a manicure with my add-on colors for the month Frieda and Chelsea as the accent nail!!</span></div>

</tbody></table>
<div style="font-family: Times,"Times New Roman",serif; font-weight: normal; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">We were pleased with how it turned out, and decided these mani reminded us of Barbie, in the best way possible :) The polish is still holding up nicely with no chips and it is three days later- gotta love that! </span></div>

<div style="font-family: Times,"Times New Roman",serif; font-weight: normal; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: x-large;"><span style="font-size: large;">I also purchased a Salon Express nail stamp/ plates kit today. I have been wanting to try out nail stamping so badly, and though this kit is small I am excited to try out all the designs. Here is my first attempt on my toe (sorry my nails were already occupied). I love the way it turned out, how easy it was to use and will be posting more about the soon, so keep a look out!! </span></span></div>

<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-size: large;">A few months ago I discovered beautiful patterned sticker
looking things from Sally Hansen. After searching the internet I found out that
they were not stickers at all, but something much more glorious- actual nail
polish in a strip form you put on your nail like a sticker!! Obviously I was
instantly intrigued, and decided to buy these little guys in mass quantities!
Even though they were pricey (the cheapest I found was about 8.50 on sale) I
wanted every pattern. For someone as indecisive as me picking a pattern is
rough!!<span> </span></span></div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Overall, my opinion is these strips are way more fun than they are practical for the cost. They take a while to apply and sometimes get torn on application/ are too big for your nail bed and rip when you try to take off the excess around nail or at end of the nail. Once I got the hang of putting them on I could get two nails out of one strip which made me feel a bit better about the price. When I used a top coat they stayed on for around a week without a ton of damage for me. However, my entire strip tended to fall all the way off rather than just "chipping" as normal nail polish does, so that presents it's own issue depending on if you have extras handy when it happens. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">I also found that if you put them on your toes (yes, I have seen the new ones that are specifically for your toes, but the finger ones work just as well) they stay on much better/ longer! I also discovered that at Rue 21 you can get the same product for around $3 (my zebra pack even had 21 strips as opposed to Sally's 16). The Rue 21 ones do not seem to be of the same quality however, and did not stay on my fingers well at all.They did last well on my toeies however. Yes, I said toeies ;). Now, pardon the picture of my foot (I highly dislike feet myself), but I LOVE zebra print!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: large;">Rue 21 Zebra Print Nail Polish Strips</span></td><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"></td><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"></td><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></td><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><br /></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"> </span><span style="font-size: large;">These little creations are fun, I will not lie, and there are sooo many fun patterns to chose from. </span><span style="font-size: large;">All in all, if you are willing to spend around $10 I would give the Sally Hansen ones a try, or $3 for the Rue 21 strips if you want to give yourself a fun pedicure. It can be quite costly if you get hooked like I did for a while, sigh haha. However, if you find a good sale (Let me know! I mean...), or just want to try something new these are for sure fun for a short lived pattern on nails :)</span></div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">My July Julep box finally got here, and I am thrilled!! Shipping took forever, and I actually got my "add-ons" today at the same time (not that I am complaining about that)! I am not sure why USPS decided to hold my package in Settle for fifty years, or send my add-ons to California, but I guess it is just one of the unsolved mysteries such as how many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsiepop- the world may never know. ;)</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Anyways, I am just so glad it arrived!! Here are the goods: </span></div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Even though, according to the quiz I took, I am American Beauty, I decided to switch to the It Girl box this month because of the promised seafoam green shade of Daphne. My favorite color in the world in blue, and this bright teal shade was right up my alley!! I was also so excited to paint my nails with the freebie polish Julep gave all U.S. Mavens- America! </span></div>

<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">My July It Girl box was filled with <b>America</b> in all it's red, white, blue & silver star glitter glory, <b>Mila</b>- a silver glitter with teal, orange, purple and green sparkles just to name a few, <b>Kate</b>- a pearly white, and <b>Daphne</b>- which is not seafoam green :( but instead a darker teal color. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">I have to say I love these polishes, but am let down by Daphne! It does not look anything like the swatches :( I emailed Julep today about it as they advised anyone not digging the darker color to do on their Facebook page so we will see what their wonderful, and I mean wonderful CS team says :) My box was also filled with red, white and blue little paper decorations, Fireball candies, and wrapped in star paper with a red ribbon- very festive! I even got a voucher for a free polish!!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">My add-ons are <b>Frieda</b>- a shimmery fuschia which happens to share the name of one of my alma maters' mascots :) , and <b>Chelsea</b> a brilliant purple glitter with teal and silver sparkles</span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;">Although I was sad not to get America in time for the 4th, I am excited to rock it while watching the Olympics! It is just beautiful on my nails and mine has so many stars! I saw some horror stories about it being impossible to apply, but luckily I guess I got a good one because it went on nicely. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">I am so excited to try the rest of my polishes, and there will be more swatches to come once I decide to take America off. I also have an American Beauty box on it's way- I couldn't resist! It will be coming with Oh Canada, a lip gloss I am stoked to try as well as Lynn and Yumi. I took Canadian Studies in college and met my best friend there so have a strange love for the country hehe.</span></div>

<b>I held off for a long time, but finally gave into the temptation that is the monthly subscription service Birchbox. Birchbox is a cute little box delivered to your doorstep each month for the fee of $10. Inside are a variety of high end beauty samples. I am a sucker for trying new beauty products and love, love, love getting mail so Birchbox was too intriguing to pass up. Basically any beauty sample you can think of all the way to hair ties to face cleansers are a possibility. Birchbox sends out a variety of boxes each month so it is a toss up what you might get. Alright, I know the excitement is killing you so here is what I received in my first box, minus a couple things, but we will get to that in a bit ;) </b></div>

<b>I have had this box for a few weeks so apologize that not all the products are shown in the above picture/ the Band-Aids are opened. I am looking forward to doing an unboxing on here of my July Birchbox so make sure you come back to see that :) </b></div>
<div style="color: #e06666; font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="color: #e06666; font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;">
<b>June's Birchbox theme was Jet Set so the box included samples of products that should be helpful when traveling. There was a little card in my box (the blurry white thing lol) that welcomed me to Birchbox in a sweet manner and had a description of the products I was getting along with their full size prices. </b></div>
<div style="color: #e06666; font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="color: #e06666; font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;">
<b>The first product I received was the lifestyle extra- </b><b><u>Cynthia Rowley limited edition Band-Aids</u> which I was surprised by haha. I am a child at heart and the only thing that ever got me through going to the doctor for a shot was the prospect of a fancy band-aid at the end, much unlike the plain lame ones we always had at home. These band-aids are designer ones for women and quite pretty. I have broken my toe since my Birchbox came, but luckily have not had the need for these little gems yet.</b></div>

<div style="color: #e06666; font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;">
<b>The next product I have already used and boy did they feel great! </b><b><u><span style="font-size: small;">BORGHESE Botanico Eye Compresses </span></u><span style="font-size: small;">was the name of the two round spa treatment eye pads in a package. I put one circle shapped damp pad over each eye for about 10 minutes and my eyes felt amazing. I removed them feeling more relaxed and the circles under my eyes were lighter. Unfortunately for a full size of 60 compresses it will cost you a pretty penny- $51. Way out of my price range, but it was nice to try them for sure! (Pictured at end of post)</span></b></div>

<br /></div>
<div style="color: #e06666; font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;">
<b><span style="font-size: small;">Next up was </span></b><b><span style="font-size: small;"><u>theBalm cosmetics Stainiac</u> </span><span style="font-size: small;">lip and cheek stain in the color beauty queen. It seems that everyone had this included in their box. The color in the tiny tube looks dark blood red and was scary at first to say the least! Luckily once I dabbed it on my lips and cheeks and smeared it out with my finger it blended in nicely. I am enjoying this sample and think it will last quite a while!</span></b></div>

<b><span style="font-size: small;"><br /></span></b></div>
<div style="color: #e06666; font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;">
<b><span style="font-size: small;">Next up was my favorite sample of the bunch: </span></b><b><span style="font-size: small;"><u>Scalisi Skincare Anti-Aging Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30</u>. </span><span style="font-size: small;">The tiny bottle made me sad until I used it! I only needed one tiny pump to cover my whole face and neck. I have been using it for about three weeks under my foundation and it makes my skin smooth and acts as a nice primer. I also love knowing if I go outside my face already has sunscreen on that doesn't include the regular harsh smell. A full sized of this is $110, so it was amazing to try out just an expensive product I otherwise would NEVER be able to!! </span></b></div>

<div style="color: #e06666; font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; text-align: center;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="color: #e06666; text-align: center;">
<b style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">The last two products were </b><b style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;"><span style="font-size: small;"><u>Jouer Luminizing Moisture Tint</u> </span><span style="font-size: small;">which was teeny tiny and did not give me much of a tint, and </span></b><b><u style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">John Varvatos Star U.S.A. </span></u><span style="font-size: small;"><u style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">cologne</u><span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;"> for men in order to promote the new Birchbox man (I passed in onto my boyfriend). <b><span style="font-size: small;">Overall I was very pleased with my Birchbox. It was a treat to try out products I would otherwise never be introduced to or have the funds to use! Some people seemed to get bigger samples such as a full size Stilla bronzer/ foundation, but hey, that just shows me I could get even better products next month. <span style="font-size: large;">Botanical Effects, Mineral Foundation & Eyeliner</span></h2>
<div style="color: purple; text-align: center;">
Recently my best friend Cassie started to sell Mary Kay cosmetics. Similar to Julep, Mary Kay is all about giving back to women. Mary Kay uses their proceeds to support groups aimed towards preventing domestic violence, to build classrooms at women's shelters and to empower women just to name a few. I have been blessed with troublesome skin :( Due to the oily, acne prone skin I thought was supposed to go away but didn't after my teenage years I am constantly looking for new cleansers that actually work. Cassie suggested a new line from Mary Kay known as<b> Botanical Effects</b>. These products are not only great for your skin being packed with antioxidants, but their packaging is also environmentally friendly.</div>
<div style="color: purple; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="color: purple; text-align: center;">
The <b>Botanical</b> line consist of four different products: Cleanse (facial cleanser), Hydrate (moisturizer), Freshen (a spray to remove excess oil/ minimize pores), and Mask in three different skin profiles for you to choose from based on your needs: Normal, Combination and Oily. Cassie informed me that moisturizing your face is one of the most important steps in caring for your skin, but one that most woman tend to skip. (Guilty as charged). My friend has never been one to lead me astray expect for that one time when...(just kidding) so I took her word for it and purchased the Cleanse and Hydrate.</div>
<div style="color: purple; text-align: center;">

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="color: purple; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: small;"><b>My beloved Mary Kay Botanical Effects Cleanse and Hydrate</b></span></td><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><br /></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
</div>
<div style="color: purple; text-align: center;">
My skin being what it is I did not expect any miracles. Upon the first use of these large sized products- I was pleasantly surprised with the bang for your buck- my skin felt cleaner and much smoother to the touch. I quite enjoyed that clean feeling and have continued using the product for a couple months now. At first, as always with new cleansers, my face broke out sightly. After a few more weeks of use however...WOW!!! My face began to clear up, and even though my face is oily that unwanted shine started to stay away!! I haven't had any big breakouts in a over a month and even some of those disgusting blackheads have cleared up. I am highly pleased with these products, and am saving up for the freshen and mask!!<br />

</div>
<div style="color: purple; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="color: purple; text-align: center;">
Another "fun" issue I have with my skin is trying to find a foundation good enough to cover blemishes without looking caked on. I am a teacher, and while I absolutely love my little ones they are also brutally honest when it comes to everything including appearances. I didn't want to be known as that first year teacher whose face looked liked a pizza! I turned to my dear friend yet again for advice in this area. I had been using Bare Escentuals Minerals foundation in the past, but talk about pricey!! In swooped Cassie yet again to the rescue suggesting I try <b>Mary Kay Mineral Powder </b>Foundation. It comes in a bigger size than the Bare Minerals and is 10 dollars cheaper. I found this foundation to provide much better coverage (a little goes a long way) as well and last longer! I didn't have to worry about it rubbing off in the middle of the school day or my shine breaking through. <span class="bodyplain">For those times when I did need a touch up on the go the container the Mary Kay powder comes in even has a mirror on top- how is that for convenience :)</span></div>
<div style="color: purple; text-align: center;">

<br />
<span class="bodyplain">Now that Cassie had me sold when it came to the quality of Mary Kay products it was a no brainer where to turn when I needed new eyeliner. I purchased <b>Mary Kay eyeliner</b> in black. I was put off at first by the small size, but with how evenly it applies it is lasting longer than store bought larger ones. It features a angle perfect for lining the top lid of your eye, a sharper at the end and a twist up container. It glides on easily and lasts throughout the day. Many times my girls would say I had makeup under my eyes or even on my nose (oh the life of a teacher). Mary Kay eyeliner did not smug however so no more embarrassing rushing to the restroom on my lunch break hoping I don't look like a clown haha. </span><br />

</h2>
<div style="color: #38761d; text-align: center;">
Shortly after I gave into the fabulous subscription company Julep I found out about yet another amazing deal they offer every once in a while. A Mystery Box! Being a teacher, and therefore a forever child at heart the mystery in Mystery Box caught my attention right away!! I then read (on their facebook site Julep Nail Parlor which I suggest all of you like pronto) that a Mystery Box sells for 19.99 and you receive at least 40 dollars of product, but up to 200 dollars worth. Oh Julep, you really know how to win a girl over!! </div>
<div style="color: #38761d; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="color: #38761d; text-align: center;">
Now, let me tell you that after signing up for Julep for a penny I had every intention of canceling the subscription. I got the product in the mail however, put it on my nails and well, I am currently hooked. I am hard on my hands and usually don't even bother painting my nails. They always chip right away and it drives me crazy if they are all not perfect. Literally all the sudden I get OCD and NEED nail polish remover or I can't function. I sure did get my pennies worth out of Julep though! My mani didn't chip for two weeks and I even went swimming!</div>
<div style="color: #38761d; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="color: #38761d; text-align: center;">
So, needless to say I didn't cancel my subscription and eagerly ordered a mystery box with my fingers and toes and legs and arms crossed tightly wishing and hoping for 200 dollars worth of product. My mystery box got here even quicker than my intro box. I got over 60 dollars worth of product :)</div>
<div style="color: #38761d; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="color: #38761d; text-align: center;">
I was lucky enough to get two toe separators, three polishes (Vera, Natalie, and Molly- a deep red not pictured), a Nail Therapy Basecoat and a chap stick that literally smells and tastes like Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies with SPF in my lovely little box! I saw Vera which is pictured below and though ewwwww! A brown nail polish?? Then I tried it on and it's actually a nice warm coffee color. I actually liked it and was so surprised! It looks very nice with my bright pink shade Natalie! I guess I shouldn't judge a polish by it's bottle haha.</div>
<div style="color: #38761d; text-align: center;">

<span style="color: #38761d;">My July box was just shipped yesterday!! This month Julep is throwing in an extra polish for free to all Mavens! You either get America the Beautiful which is a red and blue glitter with stars or Oh Canada which is a lovely red and white glitter- pretty nifty eh? I am usually an American Beauty, but loved the IT GIRL box with three polishes this month because of Daphne- a creamy seafoam blue color! I will post as soon as the box is in my hot little hands! </span></h3>

<span style="color: blue;">Julep Maven for a Penny!</span></h2>
<h2 style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: blue;">My newest obsession :) </span></h2>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #6fa8dc;">Hey all! I am extremely new to this whole blog deal, but trying my best! A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to stumble upon a wonderful company by the name of Julep Maven. Now, after picking myself up and dusting off I was hit with another surprise! You can try this 4-free high quality nail polish product for a penny!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #6fa8dc;">Now, you may be saying yeah right you can't get anything for a penny these days! I thought it was all a huge scam at first as well (I have trust issues ;) ) but I got brave and it really worked!! Now, Julep Maven is a monthly subscription service. Once you are a "Maven" you will have the opportunity to preview boxes each month from the 20th-24th. Boxes include either two polishes and a beauty product or three polishes!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #6fa8dc;">This subscription is one of a kind. I also subscribe to Birchbox, but it is just not the same. With Julep you not only get a choice of the box you would like each month, but you can skip a month without completely cancelling the subscription. If you don't have the 19.99 that month for your box or are iffy about the colors, fear not, just push the skip button and you are good to go! </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #6fa8dc;">Are you interested yet?? If so here is how to try out Julep for a penny!! Just use the link </span><span class="commentBody" data-jsid="text"><a href="http://julep.com/?r=21739311" rel="nofollow nofollow" target="_blank">http://julep.com/<wbr></wbr><span class="word_break"></span>?r=21739311</a> <span style="color: #6fa8dc;">and enter the promo code <b>COLOR2012</b>. Julep will have you take a little quiz to see what your style is (which intro box you get). It takes about two minutes. Don't like the style they chose for you? Just retake the quiz, or pick a different style after you view the amazing color choices.</span></span></div>

<span class="commentBody" data-jsid="text" style="color: #6fa8dc;">If for some reason the promo code COLOR12 doesn't work you can also use PENNYINTRO or TWITTER1 to experience beauty for a penny. Let me know if you decide to be a Maven, and as Julep would say: Shine On! </span><span class="commentBody" data-jsid="text"></span></div>
